Snett or Anglesey
Discussion
Gents - BESCR Anglesey and RCC Snett fall on the same wkd; who's going where? I have an RCC entry, but Anglesey last year sounded great fun so I might round off the year by doing that instead...
PS. Car is fixed. I’m now on the look-out for some extra F&R rims. Either Images or Alleycats, 4 stud to fit a CS (will confirm inners/outers sizes for the split rims). And a RHS sidepod – anyone know of anything lurking?
Cheers, Mark.

You hear wrong. BESCR is alive and well and - in spite of a (more than) difficult first trading year -is planning and negotiating for 2010.
It would be true to say that the BRSCC's OSS series have done all that they can to poach entries, disregard prior agreements, and develop and spread negative rumours (of which the alleged death of BESCR is a part) but we are still here and Anglesey is on.

Speaking of which, Anglesey is a superb driver's circuit and the usual BESCR free drivers' (and wives'/partners'/kids') boozeup/barbecue; along with the equally free BESCR drivers' (and wives'/partners'/kids') daytime breakfast and daytime snack stuff makes the whole weekend an even nicer place to be.

Good to hear - btw, heard that at 750MC Event @ Silv on 22 August 09.
Still a bit confused mind you.
According to http://www.brscc.co.uk/oss.html , OSS has races at Anglesey that weekend ........... does it simply mean that there's both BESCR & OSS Races being held that weekend; two different series 'competing' at least in part for the same cars/entrants?; seems a bit optimistic as the number of bike-engined sportscars was poor at the above mentioned event, six (plus three or four top-ups) if I recollect correctly. How many entrants for BESCR @ Anglesey do you expect/envisage?; I gather (perhaps incorrectly) that the number of entrants at the Cadwell Event was low?

I did hear that Keith (Messer – Competition Chairman of the 750MC) was under (or at least giving) that impression. Mind you, as he sees us as being in competition with Bikesports, he would, wouldn’t he and – with or without his help – the rumour mill works pretty well, anyway.
On the subject of Oulton and Snett, it is true that realising that we were unlikely to fill our grids at Oulton and Snetterton, JP and I took a commercial decision and agreed to sell back our track time, at these venues, to the BRSCC so as to retain capital for what - we all hope – will be easier times in 2010.
Originally, we did so with an agreement that – with OSS also struggling – we would share the same grid, but run as individual entities under our own regulations. For reasons that I would connect with dishonesty and duplicity on the part of OSS and the BRSCC, that didn’t happen at Oulton.
Actually, as it happened, if we had run as BESCR at Oulton, we would have fielded 15 cars - which is still not even close to break even - but rather better than the 8 cars that OSS managed to scrape up. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, eh?
Anyway, Anglesey is on, and is jolly lovely in every way.
Be there or be square.
