My (relatively short) list being jobs I've done and will try to avoid ever doing again! >

Having dismantled it a couple of weeks ago, got round to doing my race silencer repack today ........... stainless steel wool and e-glass must be two of the nastiest materials ever concocted by man, particularly the latter - remember that nasty fibre glass that goes in the loft, you know the stuff that makes you itch and sneeze like there's no tomorrow, well e-glass is ten times nastier - wear strong gloves, a face mask and ideally clothes you can take off and stick straight in the bin.

Mission accomplished, but a truly nasty job.

So ....... how's that Acoustafil performing Dario? Know their product from the building game and it's actually pleasant to use by comparison. Did you wrap the perforated pipes with stainless steel wool - from what I read, it not's necessary which has to be very good news.

As usual, I was making a right bloody meal of it; combo of being very particular (read too particular) and doing it for the very first time, a dire combination!

That said, I stand by my statement that e glass is a huge health hazard; all I did (as it came double folded from Radical) was roll it up appropriately around the perforated pipes and gently ease it into the case; I did this on a still day just inside the garage; there are multitudinous near microscopically thin broken fibres from about 5mm - 20mm long everywhere within a radius of about 5m in every direction from where I did it. So as far as I am concerned, if you repack an exhaust with e glass, if you do not wear a mask, a lot of these will be going straight into your lungs .......... forever .......... and let's not forget, these are very thin glass rods ........ in terms of lungs versas very thin glass rods, there will ultimately only be one winner.

Cuppa and an asbestos sandwich anyone?
