Gents - it took an 'off' to finally get me to join up here on PH, but I just wanted to say thanks for the many calls/texts from the RCC regulars after Donington offering assistance or just a thumbs up.

The car is a bit of mess, all easily repaired, but being punted off twice in two races has caned my budget completely so I'm unsure yet if I can continue.

Even the Clerk of the Course was sympathetic...!

Cheers, Mark.

Sorry to see your car in a state again, bloody bad luck.

My car took a hit in the rear wheel at the bottom of craner from a fellow I have had an issue with passing before despite me being out on the far side rumble strip trying to give him all the room, can well do without it.......

Mark: So sorry to hear about your problems, particularly after a fine old chat on the Thursday. Hope the car's not too bad, but look on the bright side, you seem to be OK. If you are stuck for anything, suggest you post up on here what you're after; it's surprising what people have secreted in dark corners of their garages and sheds, particularly when it comes to Clubsports: Fellow competitors and guys like Will from ROC will doubtless do whatever they can to help reduce the pain for you. Note you got punted off in both races, strange that you don't appear at all in TSL's Race 3 Classification.

Darren: Is that tap at Craner the reason for your DNC (I understand DNF, but what does DNC mean? .......... finished but not Classified?) in Race 1? Must confess to being slightly onfused by looking at the Race 1 times, was it wet or did the safety car/yellow flags come out? I'd guess the latter, as JW posted similar best laps in both races?

Meanwhile, it seems like the astonishing, so likeable and friendly Jonathan W is doing his usual mesmerising thingie of just serenely driving off into the sunset with only Colin M managing to keep him in view.

never got to speak to you Mark - but the car looked a bit sorry for itself :-(

Yes - there was a SC for a good few laps in the first race until Mark's car was cleared out of the run off area.....

Given i managed to qualify dead last, i had a rather good view of several 'racing incidents' and was almost taken out on several occasions buy one particular SR3 who couldn;t decide whether to block me on the right or left side of the track, so tried to do both at the same time !! but on a whole i had a fantastic wk end, and slowly got some pace in the 2nd race....

The whole paddock & general feel of the series was excellent and was fantastic to be part of a capacity grid on a circuit that blew my mind :-)

MC: Likewise, Will & I were sorry we also didn't get to meet you; it seems to me (from TSL) that you did astonishingly well indeed; marathon trip, first time on a RCC Grid, first time at Dony? Now tell us you're still using those antique slicks ............ Bet your Da was real proud - he should be. Fantastic, Well Done Mate

Cheers gents. List is:

Rear RHS upright
Rear RHS lower w/bone (to accomodate an ARB, not nik-link)
Oil Cooler
Rear Wheel (Alley cat or Image 9" width)
RHS Sidepod

Everything else I have spares for.

So it couldn't have been struck 'better' if you'd aimed for it. It was a damn tidy race car until Brands!

I'm already in touch with the usual sources, but thanks all for the suggestions.

It is a great paddock, really friendly, but without wishing to come across as arrogant I think one or two cars are too quick for their owners.

PS. Booty also set a new Clubsport lap record. Well done!

Trev,

Race 1 the car had no power & wouldn't rev up when out on the grid formation lap so I pulled into the pits before the grid formed rather than get rammed!

The Powertec guys led by the main man Ted jumped to it & tried to get me sorted out. Firstly with a new battery which I tried for one lap to no avail, back into the pits once again the Powertec guys to the rescue, whipping the body off & stucking a new coil pack on, cable tied in place. Got me back out with two lap remaining to at least see if it was cured for race 2, thankfully that did the trick!

Started race two from what I think was 27th on the grid, had a decent first 4/5 laps apart from the wheel rogering by an SR3 mentioned above, then brake pedal got long again & water temp too hot, so had to short shift to the end (But not as short as I would of liked as I had JP keeping me honest!)

I had a lonely 1st race 1st standard car home, 2nd race Darren shot past me and I think then played me for the remainder of the race. Lol. I too had no brakes just need more power to keep up with the front guys. My first proper Radical race weekend, enjoyed it loads.
And Mark bad luck gutted for you shame to see my first Radical in a mess.

Hi Splitpin.. thanks - I was happy with things in race 2 when i was starting to know what way the track went !! I did actually treat my car to a fresh set of boots for this wk end, will put the old ones off to a museum :-)

To be honest the car wasn;t that much better on them - I'm suffering understeer, so will need some set up time on slicks, once i get the roadsports championship cleared up here at the end of the season.... Its a ball ache trying to change between the two - and ultimately I will only improve when i change to slicks only...

not sure whether I'd say Dad was proud !! more like feeling sh!t due to him timing me on the thurs evening and getting me kicked off the track :-( in fairness i hadn'd said we werent allowed to time, and the track day guys were on a zero tollerance assault and cut my tags off :-(
