Currently looking to change my trailer for one that can make it much easier to get my Prosport onto.

Would like to hear who has found the ideal trailer though experience for best loading and towing.

Brian James RS3, there's a bunch of us on here who use them and swear by them, easy loading and towing with options for tool benches above the car. If you don't want an enclosed trailer then I believe the RS3 is based on one of their open trailers and I'm sure a call to Brian James will lead to which trailer that is. RS3's come up on here and ebay from time to time if you don't want to buy new, budget £5k.

Best of luck.

Agree with Nick ....... find it difficult to imagine a better trailer than a BJ RS3 for a Radical ....... an open trailer must be a pain by comparison ....... tows very well indeed, but best something with a reasonable bit of grunt ....... just try to get one with the longer ramp option, as you'll need them with the low ground clearance every Radical has; even so depending on where you're parked, you'll sometimes need to get it wound up really high on the jockey (with the front axle wheels off the ground) to get the right angle to stop it grounding the splitter or midships at times ....... how often you'll have to get it wound up that high will also depend on whether the splitter comes off with the bodywork or stays put with the front undertray (more often with the latter) and how low you've got the car set (the lower, the more often).

BTW, some others have the more expensive BJ RS5 and that seems to me that it might be more problematic for a Radical than a RS3, as the tailgate also serves as the ramp, therefore the ramps are rather short for a Radical's very small ground clearance? Hopefully a RS5 owner will comment?

I have a regular open BJ trailer that I have used for my Clubsport without any loading issues. I might well be selling it in the near future if it's of any interest.

When my car isn't languishing somewhere in a million bits while I lavish yet more cash in it, I use the RS3 for transporting my Speads RS06.

Even though my car is much bigger than an Prosport (it's dimensionally similar to, say, an SR3) it fits pretty well and - even with its long wheel base and 40mm ride height - I've only ever had to level things out with the jockey wheel (although I do have the ramp extenders should I ever need them).

Mine has the wheel rack/shelf arrangement slung over the car, the only criticism of which is that I can't get 4 wets and 2 spare slicks on it, so one wheel lives on the shelf. My tyres are 10.5's and 9's by the way.

In terms of towing, convenience, neatness - and not allowing your car to fill up with water and go red rusty on the way to a circuit - I can't think of a better option.

It's also - when it's suitably secured against the intentions of the ..erm... 'travelling community' -a jolly convenient place to store the car if you're limited for garage space.

Same issue with 9" and 7" rims, 4 wets plus 1 slick on the rack.

By the way, 04:00 is sleepy time, Count or otherwise....

Hi all - my first post !
This may be late in the day but I also have an RS3.The major changes that I have made are to put a tyre rack at the front ( hold 7 wheels ) and nearly full length metal tray above the car that utilises the space above. This tray is bolted in ( made by a local engineering company ) and is brilliant. The tray is just higher than my old SR4 and new PR6. ( red with dayglo yellow at Brands if any body saw it )
Overall a brilliant trailer, easy to tow, a rascal to reverse ( due to 12" close mounted wheels ) and would have another...
Cheers

Care to enlighten us Nick?

Welcome aboard David. Look forward to meeting you at Dony on July 2 .............. hope you're really getting more out of your tuned PR06 than 95bhp! Powertec's dyno takes a bit of stick from some on here, but .....! ............ seeing where you apparenly 'hail from', just a handy co-incidence? Saves on those Post & Packing Charges that also get a fair bit of stick on here? ............ also, while I think of it, you should sign up to ROC, see the biggest ever thread on here, never far from the top ............. Radical Owners Club ............. entirely off it's own bat, effort & initiative, ROC has a Stand all this week at MotorExpo @ Canary Wharf.
