Prosport 2001 hayabusa.

Can anyone explain in detail exactly how the reverse system works.

I realise the balls are supposed to run up the two ramps and then engage with the sprocket lugs.

Whwn I press the button the motor runs in the correct direction but the outer collar with the two ramps machined on it rotates at the same speed and direction as the inner shaft so there is no way of the balls engaging.

Mine has never worked so I have no past experiemnce for reference.

Where is the controller situated and what does it do exactly?

Any diagrame of any info welcome.

Rang Radical today and they didnt have a clue!

Thats sounds familier - Radical not having a clue that is...

The controler ramps the torque up slowly until the balls are properly meshed etc..

If the centre is turning as well as the end plate then something is not quite right..

Good luck.. these are always a cause of concern and problems

Controller fitted in Left Sidepod, just follow the wiring.

Mine is currently sitting in the back of the garage, it just as effective at reversing the car as well now as when fitted wink

If I had a choice I would ditch it but local regs state must have reverse, can't be bothered to fit quiffe reverse box or diff.

However I have sussed it by process of reverse engineering... turns out the problem was due to the one end of the horse shoe spring in the end plate had sheared off stopping one of the balls from exiting it's hole, made new spring and now works perfectly every time ... just hope it lasts long enough to get through scruteneering.
