Hi

Just ran the car up and noticed the idle end bearing on the water pump is getting noisy, if you give it a tap it goes away but this is not a fix.

Think i had better change it to be safe, what is the procedure to rebleed the cooling system and what % anti freeze to water should i use ?

Regards

Marshy

for what it's worth form me.

no thermostat fitted as standard so there is not one once of problems to bleed the system.

my opinion is 33-50% antifreeze (aluminuim type)

pree mix the coolant before putting it in so you can guarantee the mix ration.

fill up the engine via the swirl pot and run the engine till warm.

allow excess water to rise out of the tank and in to the spill away line

stop engine and refit pressure cap.

run up engine to operating temperature, the rad cap will issue a little more coolant as it expands.

when cold check inside the swirl tank and coolant should be about 1-1.5 inches below neck.
