Rob; does this mean 260mm diameter x 58mm hub height with new thickness of 24mm as per Mk4 Escort RS Turbo 86-91?; just checking as it always seemed strange to me that Radical were fitting these in 2000 > 2004-ish i.e. a decade or so after Ford stopped using them. Another thing that confuses me is that my front discs (which came direct from Radical) have two opposed diagonal 'de-glazing' grooves to each face (as do the rears, but on my SR4 these are not vented) and I can't recollect RS Turbos having these grooves on theirs discs, (I thought they were plain) but then again I might not as there's a chance I'm trying to remember back twenty years? As I shall be up for new discs front and rear sooner rather than later, could you please clarify? Thanks

Edit; mine crossed with Silv's .................. Vic 99% sure Rob is no longer (very profficiently indeed) flying a Radical around Bath ............... now back in a Elise ............ great car and from my home county, but I for one hope it's temporary, sooner we have him back where he belongs da better ................. very much hope Rob comes along anyway ................ certainly more than welcome ............... most helpful, always nice to come across someone who has probably forgotten more than most of the rest of us put together will ever know about Radicals.

Funnily enough Radical aren't bad price wise for replacement disc's if they are the same as the PR6 ones?

Just bought a pair for £75+VAT from them which I thought was pretty fair.

S2 RS Turbo Disks are 260mm and will not fit as the calipers are made too suit 240mm Disks as fitted to standard Mk4 Escort XR3i and S1 RS Turbo not S2 RS Turbo.

Try this link, part No. BM002 is what you need £18 pair for Grp N or £75 for drilled and grooved

i have had the BM052 disks on my sr3 for 2 years now. including the fact that i have just changed them again and fitted them.

the disks are from a Sierra 2.0l ABS equipped car.

the 240mm were lost on my SR3 as i made a mistake and ordered the wrong ones BM002.

Ah I could be wrong... that will teach me for trying to offer advice on SR3's rather than club/prosports..

Scott - close, but the SR3 is different to the club/prosport wink

Splitpin - you are correct with the dimensions for the SR3. Radical have the discs grooved, they come without as standard. As Darren said Radical prices isn't bad at all. Hi-Spec will do sell you discs and grove them to your spec for around the same kind of cost. As for the age of the car/disc...the Radical has always used Ford dimensions on the braking so I guess it was what was about at the time.

Silv - yup both me and Neil will be up at the ROC day, looking forward to it. biggrin

Just for future reference, here are the disc sizes (fitted with STANDARD caliper mounting)

Club/Prosport - Escort Mk4 1.4 disc 240mm diameter x 58mm height. The vented discs are 24mm thick and the solid discs are 10mm

SR3 - Escort 1.6 RS Turbo - 260mm diameter x 58 height x 24mm thick (vented)

My knowledge of the SR4 and PR06 isn't great but from speaking to Darren and the little bit of work I've done on the SR4 they look to have the same discs as the Club/Prosport.

The Club/prosport can be fitted with the same discs as the SR3 but you need the extended lug calipers. You might have wheel clearance issues with the Clubsport allycat wheels, but shouldn't have a problem with the centre lock image wheels on the Prosport or the CRX wheels on the Clubby. Likewise you can fit 280mm discs to the SR3 with the extended lug calipers, clearance isn't an issue with the SR3 wheels. I am assuming that because the PR06 and SR4 uses the same discs as the Club/Prosprot you should be able to run the extended lug calipers and then fit 260mm discs.

Hope some of that helps
