Can anyone confirm weather to race in the Radical Clubmans cup / 750 MC / Bescar this year, that its necessary to have in the fuel line not only the T piece type fuel sampler but also a dry break fuel sampling coupler with fitting & length of hose?

Hi DSL2

The Grey Book clearly states that this only applies to '..British and MSA Titled Championships...' and this does not apply to any of the championships that you name (including the far superior BESCR for which I'm the Technical Representative).

This said, I've included fitting one in my winter rebuild, as it makes draining down the fuel a far cleaner and safer task and - if you've got a few quid spare - you might like to do the same.

Then again, you might not...

2009 Regs.

Each car must have a Radical Fuel Testing ‘T’ piece plus dry break valve fitted to the fuel line to facilitate safe fuel testing..

Thanks for that. Mmmm, so the Radical regs say you need one.

So I take it you put it in the fuel supply line to the throttle bodies after the drain off T piece on the way to the fuel rail then?

Just a heads up, but the MSA regs say that for fuel injected cars, the coupling must be FIA approved and I don't think the BSP products, to which Simon is referring, are.

Thieves do stock FIA approved Staubli items and are pleased to rush you almost twice as much.

Do Radical refer to the FIA in their rules on this subject.

This is what the radical club cup regs say:
regs said:
5.15.2 The use of a controlled unleaded fuel complying with the definition laid down in MSA Regulation P.1.3. Terminology (Technical Definitions), and supplied by the Anglo American Oil Company Ltd, is mandatory for all official championship testing, practice, qualifying and race sessions. Compliance with this regulation will be verified by fuel testing carried out throughout the season. To allow comparison testing to be carried out, competitors must have a minimum of 3 litres of fuel left in the fuel tank at the end of any session. Each car must have a Radical Fuel Testing ‘T’ piece plus dry break valve fitted to the fuel line to facilitate safe fuel testing.
Doesn't exclude any type of carbs/FI, and is specific about the type of connection (ie a "Radical" one).
