High Downforce Rear Diffuser
Discussion
Hi
Currently upgrading my SR3 to high downforce, when fitting the rear diffuser i have found it is hard up against the steel braded oil pipes that run from the sump, it takes some force to fit it, how i see it i have two options :
1. Leave it and see how it goes
2. Cut a slot in the diffuser with a hole saw and jigsaw to relive this area.
What do you guys think is the best way to go ?
Regards

If they're firmly clamped together then they're probably not going to do much damage (as long as the hose isn't crushed far enough to restrict the flow). It's when things can move against each other that you get fretting problems. If you cut into the diffuser, the disruption to the surface makes it much easier for the air to detach. The further forward this is the more harm it's likely to do to the aerodynamics. ALl in all I'd be inclined to leave it as it is, but if it's accessible have a look in a few thousand miles time to make sure neither of them are wearing through each other.
...or a 60 degree elbow.
