Hi guys,

anyone know if the car dollies like those in the link below fit under club/prosports with body on ??

would be a handy way of moving the car around... and help give me a bit of extra clearance at the front to get it over a slight lip into my garage :-)

It says they are 150mm high, my splitter and bodywork is set at 40mm. Admittedly mine is down at the limit for competition use, but cant imagine yours is over 150mm off the ground!

We use a set very similar in the shop for carting the cars (SR3s) around. They work like a charm. Use the quick jack/air jacks to get the car in the air, slide these under the tyres, drop the car back down, and slide it around easy as you please.

Good question Mark, these would be handy for me too. If you go for a set please can you let us know how you get on with them.

Thanks

Nick

cheers matt...

they do look promising Nick - just not sure if the edges leading towards the side pod and front body/splitter etc would catch when its dropped down onto them - but sounds encouraging that Matt can use them on the SR3's

rather than mail order a set - i may see if a local factor has a set in stock as they'd be more likely to take em back if they don;t work out....

Would be interested to hear; have been out with my tape measure and these look real 50/50 for an SR4, which runs 13" wheels; likewise your Prosport Mark? It's encouraging that Matt can use then on the SR3, but I think the fact that this runs 15" fronts might make all the difference between working and not working.

Let me know if you can't get temporary loan of some from the local factor to try; I go past a Machine Mart everyday and I'm willing to try to cadge a set to try overnight on the SR4 which may give you a better feel, as well as getting Nick a definite yes or no.

They'd be damn handy, not only for moving the car about, but also to get it high enough on the fast jack to then remove it and get a proper trolley jack underneath.

my local factor's don;t stock them unfortunately - checked in there yesterday... will try another couple before the end of the week..

I do reckon they'd be borderline - and yes i am on 13" too... but looking at teh pics of the dollies - you may be able to chop some of teh leading edges off them with a cutting disk, messy.. but would serve the purpose

I'll look forward to hearing from whoever finds out first.

Splitpin - On the subject of moving things around easily I've bought one of these below for the trailer, can't easily move it with a standard jockey by myself and have a tight driveway with slight slope to move it on. If it works ok with the RS3 I'll let you know.

I used the same "skates" I have now on my Prosport as well. Although mine are a slightly different design than the ones you linked to.

I'll take some pics and post them when I can.
