...my foot not the car fortunately. Going to be touch and go for the first radical test day. Argh.

Bert

And to forestall the obvious question, it was either:
A/ fighting off a horde of pillaging Vikings to protect the honour of a beautiful virgin OR
B/ slipping on some ice, tripping up the kerb, going A over T and looking a complete pillock in Reading Services.

Gotta be B: Our IMOM fell over in a library ? Seriously though, ATB for a very speedy recovery......hope you make the Test Day (probably see you there) and as important, make sure you've got it good and strong for the ROC Inaugural Trackday wobble

But it hurts! Even strapped up. In a fit on irony, even more ironic than Alanis Morrisette could sing about, I had my race licence medical today! We had a good laugh over the "anything physical or mental that would stop competitor racing" question.

No, no, no, not a library, I was on my way to a high powered meeting with other captains of industry! Oh, no, actually it was after I fought off the Vikings...

I'm sure I'll be fine for both. Better get my credit card out and book the track day!

get decent painkillers :-)

pxygen therapy (those tanks you sit in) are also great for broken bones

or there is the bone welder - a physio that does laser therapy and fixes many a bike racer...

And blokes who are old enough to know better then to go hunting virgins in Reading.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Bert and hope it gets sorted for the first race.

You are as likely to find Virgins in Reading as you are to see a small Invoices from Radical.biggrin

I broke my leg in mid November.

A. It wasn't skiing off piste, went over an 80 ft precipice, nearly got away with it but landed a bit awkwardly.

B. It was slipping on a pile of wet leaves on a steep part of my driveway as I was talking to my wife at the time. (So it's her fault!). Leg in plaster and was not allowed to put any weight on it until Xmas Eve, when the plaster came off - completely ruined my social life in the run up to Xmas.

I am driving again now so see everybody at the ROC day Silverstone.

That'll teach you to talk to the wife! Look forward to shaking Tim's and your hand at the ROC Inaugural Trackday!

Just got summoned for food, so got to hop along.......!

Bugger. Went to the hospital for my sign-off today after 6 weeks. Unofrtunately the fracture is bigger now than it was when I went 3 weeks ago.

So I am not even being looked at again for 4 weeks, so that's the start of the season and the ROC day completely shagged.

Going to get a second opinion privately, but even if they operate (which is the alternative apparently) it'll still take a while to heal.

Maybe I am not destined to be a racer. This is the third season I have tried, the last twice were dismal failures for work related reasons. Hey ho.

Tough luck Bert, was looking forward to putting a face to a name at the ROC event. Fingers crossed you can get some welding done and get to both events.

So I know this is completely pathetic, wimpy, self-serving, sympathy seeking, but I'm just a bit p'ed off.

Finally had surgery 6 weeks ago, cast off, physio started tuesday, progress at last...wait a minute, foot looks a bit, well a lot, well effin swollen.

Oh dear, fun day at Surrey County Hospital and one DVT later. So I am stuffed full of warfarin and heparin. I suspect they are incompatible with a race licence!!!

Hey ho, there's always next year.

Just a thought, my race-ready clubby is in top conditiona at Lanan Racing. If anyone (reputable!) would like to rent it for any racing it's available. It'd need to be looked after by Lanan so I knew it had the proper amount of TLC.

Mr Grumpy

PS a good way of scaring yerself is to look up "Compartment Syndrome". That's where I was heading this week! On a positive note, diaster was avoided!

You have every right to be, sorry to hear your woes and hope it gets sorted out for at least an outing in the car this year.

So you avoided a fasciotomy? Darn well hope so! Oh my gosh.

All the best for an early recovery ............... unfortunately, the appropriateness of a 'speedy' felicitation disappeared a long time ago.

Adding in the requirement 'reputable' (on this Forum) is a cunning way of reducing the number of timewaster leasing enquiries ................
