I am in the process of putting my car back together after a long re-build and hence could do with some confirmation from your good selves.....

should there be any spacers/washers/anything? between the upright and the top rosejoint, and the upright and the bottom bearing?

Thanks

Scott

Nope, on both counts.

Scott on my front uprights there are spacers between the top rose joint and the uprights to stop the rose joint touching the upright on full suspension travel, Radical part number SJ0008, nothing at the bottom.

Yep thats what I thought...

The problem appears to be the head of the large bottom bolt fouling the upright when trying to rotate the steering.. maybe its set with too much camber? hard to tell until I can get the wheels on and sit it at the right ride height... it was ok when I stripped it down.. so should be ok once all set back up.. the only change is too high camber front wishbones to allow me to run dunlop or avon radials.

SJ0008:-

The order, from top to bottom is

Bolt
split (lock) washer 5/8th
Spacer SJ0008
Upper wishbone rose joint
Upright
Lower wishbone rose joint
Bolt SU0012

The top and bottom of the upright is narrow enough to allow movement of the wishbone joints, the spacer allows movement at the top of the upper joint
The inner face of the head of lower wishbone bolt is machined to allow movement of the lower joint

I would recommend a smear of copper grease on the threads, and on the shoulders of the bolts that sit in the spherical bearings otherwise they tend to sieze

Hope this helps
