Im all, im in the process of looking for a second hand SR4, but there seems to be a real lack of them for sale.

Does anyone know of any good cars coming up for sale in the future ?

Cheers,

James

James, give Mark at Mansol a ring and ask if Gary Kane's car is still available. Contact number is on http://www.radicalsportscars.com/racing/faqs or I have his mobile somewhere. He ran Gary's championship winning SR4 last year and it has been up for sale on and off over the winter, no idea if it has gone yet.

How are you planning on transporting the car? If you are going for a trailer then make sure you get one that it is low to the ground as the car's ground clearance is very low and it can make it difficult to get up onto the trailer bed.

Good luck.

Nick

Would reinforce Nick's point about getting the trailer right; that's why we both use a Brian James Race Shuttle RS3 and even with that, you'll need the longer ramps - they are about 2.5m; they are an extra cost option, so if you are buying secondhand, check that it's got those and if not, factor that in. RS3 is an enclosed trailer, therefore pricey. I think Brian James use the RS3's 'bed' for one of their cheaper (well, less pricey!) open trailers if that would do you.

If you are trying to establish all the options, best give BJ a ring on 01327 308833; I have found them helpful and they are well used to what Radicals can or can't be loaded on to - high downforce spec Radicals are even more critical on this, because the splitter stays put when the front body work is taken off. They also have 'traded-in' trailers from time to time.

Cheers biggrin

Thanks for the replies guys...Aztec, YHM.

I'm planning on transporting it on a open trailer...dont really have the storage space for a shuttle. Looks like i'll have
to give Brian James a call.

Cheers

PRG trailers are worth a call. They made me beavertail trailer for our SR3. The wheels are under the bed so it fits in a single garage. It has a removable drawbar and measures 6'6" X 15'3". Extra long ramps make loading no problem. Cheers

An open trailer is not a problem, but I would recommend a weatherproof cover: I've got one which is brilliantly close fitting by being specifically tailored for the SR4; tucks under front and rear, comes exactly to the bottom of the skirts and has numerous straps in each and every place (under and over in umpteen places) that would definitely prevent it flapping around (like Clarkson's Ugly Mug when he was driving that Ariel Thingie), let alone being blown off. Considering the complex shape of an SR4, it has to be the best tailored weatherproof car cover I've ever seen anywhere. Recollect it's by Specialised Car Covers and I could quickly check that if you want.

Being ever the optimistic/glass half full type, here's hoping that you'll be finding and buying an SR4, that you'll therefore be coming to the ROC Inaugural Trackday; that being the case, I'll be happy to bring along my cover to that for you to see it in action and check it out.

As you will have already seen, us Radical Lot are more than pleased to help you join the awesome world of the Big R! yikes

Let Me Know biggrin

I assume that James completed with the purchase of a(nother) SR4 from Mark @ Mansol. See thread called "Found an SR4 !"

Hi,
I have the car now, just trying to sort out all the rest of the required bits and pieces (inc. a trailer) before I can get out and enjoy the SR4 !

KR, how much are you after for the trailer ?

Thanks,

James

Hi James,
Yeah I'd realised what youd bought when I read the more upto date info from you and I do remember mark saying he'd managed to flog some dodgy old yellow SR4!!! Seriously, having seen that one, it's way better than mine was, and I think youve got yourself a really neat and tidy car. The trailers a difficult one, cos its only a year old and they seem to hold their value. It was up at Mark's, did you see it? Speak with Mark re price.
