Hi all,
I have recently bought, but still awaiting delivery of some new Hi-Spec Calipers for the front of my clubsport, but they could not supply performance friction 01 pads and were not very helpful when asked for pad pattern details? All they gave me was CP4152 which is not an AP pad type or at least I can't find it on their web site???

Has anyone got some details? Also does the floating disk set-up with 280mm dia disks use different pads? I am using standard vented heavy disks..

Cheers
Scott

These do not look like the right ones IMHO

However, these do

Assuming your calipers are the same as the ones Hispec make for Radical, price looks OK too

If you have a GPR catalogue there is a great brake pad guide in there

Hope this helps

I was considering fitting the Radical 4 pot calipers to my Lola's rear end, but have been warned off them (without justification I should add)
Has anyone run these calipers in anger?

Graham.

Give Anthony a call at Techcraft - http://www.techcraft.co.uk/ - he will be able to supply at a decent price as well. Just for information they are a AP fitment.

Graham - we've been running the HiSpec/Radical calipers for a few seasons now on both Radicals and Corinium Motorsports special Duratec SR3. The only issue we've had are seals going hard, but so long as you replace them after every season this shouldn't be a issue. My advice is if you run them just have a spare set of seals in your tool box.

Others last night on another forum have said exactly the same thing Rob. Thanks for the details.
Graham.

New Radical caliper = Hispec = Awesome stoppers! The difference between these and the old wilwoods is astounding

A hillclimb friend has Wilwoods on his single seater....you can see them distort under pressure.(quite literally as you approach the 90 deg left looming up quickly.

so the strange thing is that I feel my Clubsport is over-breaked on my Wilwoods. I can seem to lock the wheels easily at any speed. I can't imagine any more braking happening. What's going on?

Tyres, suspension, setup ... all contribute to odd behaviour on the brakes.

As I was bleeding the brakes today, I thought I would measure the amount of distortion of the Willwood 4 pot calipers as fitted to my Clubsport.

Using a digital vernier caliper across the width of the brake caliper I measured 0.12mm of caliper expansion with full pedal pressure. Hardy huge is it. Ok it might be a bit more when the caliper is hot but not a lot more.
