I was clearing out the cupboards of all the junk yesterday and came across a box of lego. Was going to throw it out but then managed to waste the whole evening constructing stuff. It`s just as much fun as when I was a kidhehe

This is going to look like an outrageous case of nepotism, but honest guv, I had no idea this was coming. Absolutely brilliant: See pic on Willbee's profile to see how brilliant.

Do I now know what I'm getting for Christmas? nuts

I used to buy my son a BIG Teknic Lego kit every Xmas - it would keep him quiet for weeks.

Now he's an engineer.

Where did I go wrong?

I need one of these too, just for the wet days.
How else would you want to spend an evening.
I am obscuring her view of the computer at the mo. How sad but even Lego want's me to go out for a drive.

Relatively speaking, quote high Willbee - Nick will have no issues getting this particular RS3 in the garage; dimensional clearances or 'offsetting costs'!smash

Agreed. This particular Brian James trailer is certainly compact and at a `20 lego treasure chests filled with gold coins` asking price. When you consider that also included is the `big to small` adapter for your tow hook you will most probably need when attaching the trailer to your car, its quiet a snip!

Before my daughter was born 23 years ago I bought a scalextic set. Just to check it out of course.

It only came out at Xmas and took the attention off the TV etc.

I also later bought a Tamia electric car for ice racing on the road at Xmas. It kept her away from the TV for a good while.

She has a degree in Music now and works in property development and is doing well.
She is a petrol head with a (BMW) Mini.

NOW! Where did I go wrong!!

Here's my Lego Radical:

Here's my Lego Radical:

You (& she) have done well and didn't go wrong. The Motor is looking real good too.

I too have a Mini and am in property development and (although I do quite a bit of stuff abroad) apparently in much the 'same neck of the woods'- there the similarity between her and I doubtless ends! If that is the case (in PropDev and around here), please get her to let me know where most/the rest of us around here are 'going wrong'!; it seems to most of us to be utterly & completely terrible right now around here and everywhere else in PropDev; loads of outfits are going 'pop' (big, well and long established Client went bump on Thursday) and those that aren't are almost universally 'offloading' people (partly or completely) almost daily, left, right and centre......and twerp Darling's 2.5% off VAT isn't going to make a scrap of difference to that.

Must get out that Argos catalogue and have a look at the Scalextric.............now which of those hundreds of cardboard boxes are those old Scalextric cars in? coffee

You can apply the 'situation' you describe to ANY industry right now.
Best to be a Police man or a Teacher. The only safe places to be employed...

The scalextrics will be kept for her children, it is now a classic set.

The lego Lola above is now a bit like this:

They are patented ball retainers!

They now actually bolt-up to the gearbox and a few other bits actually fit now.
Might be a race car one day...

No, for old age (I qualify) you need the double strength ones with a panel to write on to remember what they are for!
Now look like this:
