SR3 battery not charging
Discussion
As some of you may know we have had problems with our 1300 Busa engined SR3 not charging the battery. So far we have checked the wiring and cleaned all connectors and on advice bought and changed the voltage regulator. the problem still persists as at Silverstone yesterday we started the day with a fully charged battery and it died at about 3.30pm !! I need a bit more info regarding the charging system (alternator ?) on the Busa engine. Can anyone please advise what, where, and how the charging system works. Thanks

FunnyI had the same problem yesterday and had to buy two new batteries.
I found a fuse today just off the battery which had melted.
from the owners manual....
A 30 amp in-line blade fuse is located in the engine bay, low down by the cars battery, in a black in-line holder. This protects the charging system. Should the fuse blow, the alternator will not charge the battery, and the car will eventually stop when the battery is flat.
A 30 amp blade fuse is mounted on top of the starter solenoid (in the engine bay) to protect the lights and ancillaries (logger, camera etc.). NB: If this blows the engine will continue to run.

Top man Dario I should have contacted you in the first place! With a bit of luck we should now find the fault and get it fixed. Thanks for the other post's guys but we have checked wiring, connectors, changed fuses etc etc before, I suspect the problem is within the engine alternator system. http://offwidth.co.uk/bike/general/electrical_faul...
