hi Guys,

what is the std or recommended ride height for the clubsport ? I have tried to google, and found reference to 70mm ???

If that is the case - i assume getting a ride height of 75mm woudl be easily achievable by adjusting the pre load collar on the shocks to suit - providing all geometry etc etc was ok ??

Mark.

yep, that's right on both fronts. Also boils down to 40mm under the front splitter.

thanks guys - i thought 70mm sounded high for one of these - but wanted to check... just looking at regs for different race series and 75mm is req. for one - but with splitter at 40mm woudl be a no go - I knew it was along shot..

thanks again.

Would that be 750MC RGB Mark? You may already know that Jonathan Wright ran (and won the series IIRC) a SR4 in this series a few years back, so if you haven't bought a CS yet then take a look at an SR4.

think he did in '06 Nick - although i suspect the car may have been bui;t specifically for the RGB - i.e. modify pick up points and obvioulsy removing the wing...

The wing is no problem - but to start and butcher a radical and re weld in pick up points to raise ride height is extreme and may make it even harder to sell on....

Yep, butchery is probably not a great idea. But what about the SR4's built for road use? Somewhere on Radicals website there's a review (think it's an Evo magazine jobby) that bangs on about using an SR4 on the road with higher ground clearance and I think the online catalogue section talks of different parts for SVA'd cars.

Hi Mark
It was in 2006 that I won the RGB Championship, the SR4 was standard and the chassis was not modified in any way, all that was needed was adjustments to dampers to get the ride height and a moulded section of body work to fit in place of the wing.

If you’re thinking of going down the RGB road in an SR4 and need any advice please call or e-mail me and I’ll help you out with any set up info you need.

I also still have the rear body work and mould that fits in place of the wing.

thanks jonathan..

knowing the radicals as you do... do you reckon the club/pro sport models woudl also make the ride height restriction in that series ? or is the SR4 higher as std ?

i like that series, and woudl be good to be part of...

Hi Mark
I’m not to sure about Club or Pro Sports but I’m sure with a change of dampers you would be able to meet the restrictions quite easily.

One thing you need to bare in mind is wheel sizes, if you get a car with Image wheels it’s no problem to change rims, I still have a box with all my RGB rims so if you do decide to go RGB give me a call.

thanks again jonathan..

did you use the std powertec supplied ZZR1200 when you raced ?? redaing the RGB regs the engine has to be totally std (which a powertec isn't) but the power woudl still be lower than the std busa and ZX-12r that are normally used in that class - so i imagine that they are allowed in power terms maybe ?

how do you reckon a club/pro or SR4 woudl go against them now ?? did you struggle with the speed of the zx-12r ? i guess without a wing the SR4 ha dmore speed too...

its an intersting grid..

Hi Mark
My engine was a Busa supplied by powertec but keep as standard; we also ran the standard Suzuki ECU and throttle bodies.

I’m sure a good pilot in an RGB speck SR4 would be able to run at front of the RGB grid but i would recommend a fair bit of testing.
