As above really. How do they come out? I assume the nuts are rh and lh threads. Do you have to take the upright off completely to get them out? Any gotchas?
Tks

Feel sure both are right hand threads, do they have a roll or split pin fitted if not nuts might have been lock tighted so may require a little heat to undo, drop upright down, and pull will either come straight out or will be a pig to get out as inner CV joint might have a circlip fitted.

Crack the drive shaft nuts, undo the top bolt on the upright and swing it down. As you swing it down remove the cv from it, it might need a short sharp shock to release it from the hub. At the diff end get a big flat blade screwdriver and lever it between the joint and the diff and it'll pop out. To remove the cv's from the shafts there is a circlip in the joint that needs to be expanded to allow the shaft to be removed.

I know this is an inane question, but the nuts have roll pins lock-wired in. Are the pins likely to be metric or imperial? Also wouldn't split pins be easier?
Thanks

Would say Metric as off a Ford car of the 90'S.
I don't use them instead use locktite.
