biggrinlaugh I wondered if I would get a few interesting comments ! But on a more serious note I seem to remember that when we used Avons on our clubsport the tyres had to fitted in some sort of pattern.

Radical dunlops are not directional but i try to put the tyre on the same as original wheel ie main running area to the inside.

I tell the tyre fitter that the 'R' should be on the outside (if they are Radical spec Dunlop slicks), but as has been said, they are non directional.

Good luck at Brands.

Hi Silv

My GT40 kit is a Roaring Forties, which was based in Australia, but they moved production to South Africa. My kit was one of only 2 which came out of South Africa before the company went bust. So I got an incomplete kit with many bits missing. This has meant that the build process has been long and difficult, although GT40s are challenging to build anyway. I have recently reached the stage where the car is now road legal, having got through the SVA test (at the second attempt) but the bodywork is unpainted and needs generally sorting out to get the panel fits reasonable. It is nowhere more than 1/4 inch out but it out by that amount all over the place! Also I think the suspension will need some sorting (shocks, springs, etc.) before it will be good around a track, although it is OK when driven on normal roads. The engine (a stroked small block Ford 302) gave 450 bhp on the dyno so it should be interesting.

If you are going to build a GT40 or Ultima, I understand that the Ultima is a much easier build, with excellent technical support from the factory - but it won't be a piece of history like the GT40!
