Hi. I currently race Renault Clios, but am thinking of moving to an SR3 for next year.

The only problem is I'm 6'5" and about 17 stone. I've got a narrow bodied Caterham Superlight, which has a lowered floor, which I can fit in snugly.

Is there anyone within say 1 hour of London whose SR3 I could try for size? I litterally just need to sit in the cockpit for 5 minutes. No need to start the engine, etc. Trying to organise this with Radical is hard work!

My 6,2" son fits in the passenger seat of our SR3 no problem. I don't think you will have an issue with height however the standard seat may be a bit tight depending on your shape. If you intend to race an SR3 and don't want to carry passengers removing the factory fitted moulded two seats and fitting a seat to suit you IMO would be easy. I am in Kent south of Tunbridge Wells close to the Sussex border drop me an email if you want to try our car for size.

thanks.

Has anyone experience of removing the factory seat and creating a moulded PU foam seat? What would this locate to/sit within if the original seat were missing? I'm presuming there are some chassis rails below the orginal seat which a moulded seat could attach to? I know that once I'm strapped in, the seat anchorage isn't too much of a problem, but it's a real pain getting in/out with the seat moving around (I currently have this setup in my caterham!)

Silv - has your son got long legs, or a tall back? How much headroom does he have?

Is the pedal box adjustable fore/aft?

Fergus, I suspect you might have to fit or even weld in some brackets to take a single seat. Someone on here may know the answer. My son is long in the body, have a look at the pic of him and I in the car on my profile to see headroom. Pedal's are adjustable I don't think you can move the box. Cheers.
