Hello chaps i am struggling with this issue

i want to run my sr3 at 60mm ride height approx. Spoke to paul at radical he said to put about 5 turns of pre load on the front springs then use the pull rods to bring it down to the correct height

when you put that many turns of pre load on the shock even with the shorter throw shockers fitted the nose floor is 100mm but the pull rod is already at its maximum shortest lenth so i cant pull the nose down with the rods?????

now here is the rub.....literaly, if you dont put any pre load on at all at speed the nose is pressed into the ground

some pre load is good as it gives you a more even spring performance

I can get the ride height i want using the spring platforms but you end up with no pre load

should i be running at 80mm at standstill to get 60mm at speed??? does anyone have any practical knowledge of this problem
so are there any experts out there cheers

what spec sr3 do you have? is it a high downforce car or a low down force car with the single inlet side pods and front splitter?

Hi

thanks for reply

my car is the monty high down force spec except the side pods which are the old style with the short 12" avo shocks on the front and 400 and 450 springs

I have set the car up as instructed by paul and have got 70mm in the middle flat part of the chassis and about 50mm at the splitter which is correct according to the manual

if i put any preload on the springs the ride height goes up and my pull rods are fully closed ergo i have no way of puling the nose back down again

if i run with no pre load i risk mashing my new very exprensive high downforce splitter into the gound

help???????
