I know a few people have signed up to do this and I am about to, it looks good fun. I am looking to see if anyone else is out there...

My Clubsport has a wing and 2 seats. The seats are ok, but the wing is not! I think radical will run a sub-class for clubsports with modded aero, so the question is whether there are others with Clubsports with modded aero that are interested in doing it?

Also I am getting Van Kaiser to look after me at the races. In the spirit of the Clubman's cup he is offering to look after people on the day who are happy to look after their cars inbetween whiles themselves and get them to the events themselves. He has me and another person interested. Again is there anyone else who would be interested in this as he is looking to look after another car?

Well I sent off the entry form & fee a while ago....but now I have read all the hoops you are meant to jump through to meet the regs I can't see me doing any of them now!

Are the regs published anywhere?

I am guessing the invitation class is only open to "Powertec" engines?

Hi Rob,

The regs say tuned powertec engines - no mention of non powertec engines either way - I'll email you a copy of the regs. Might be worth giving Amanda at Radical a call if you fancy comming out to play.

Incedentally a few of us are testing at Silverstone on 22nd - any one else there or fancy comming along?

What's the hoops, they seemed pretty straightforward to me?

Regards

Simon

Amanda is keen for people to take part, so I would think they would be sympathetic to non-powertec engines in the invitation class. Definitely worth asking.

For starters-

Requirement for Sunaco race fuel / Radical Badges sewn on to race suits / Flying a Radical flag & provision of flag pole / Not allowed the wider option wheels & tyres in the prosport class.

Control fuel makes sense - even if the price doesn't
Didn't see the wider tyres section. Does that mean you can't use 8s and 10s 195 and 230?
Flag poles and badges - I wouldn't get too worried about those two

badges on race suit must still comply with FIA/MSA regs and so must the thread be flame retardant, ony specialist people can do it, at a cost!

I would love to know how a scrutineer is going determine whether the thread is fireproof.
What a load of B**lox.
But you fire extinguisher can be decades old, aslong as the guage is in the green your safe....Cutting edge stuff here then.

The zip in my suit broke a couple of years ago. I got a new nomex one, but it was hard to get the thread. Did it in the end though. Mrs Bert did a superb job!!

Doesn't a fire extinguisher have an expiry date?

Still need to give you a call to get a new one. Will do that when I get back to blighty next week!

Ref Non Powertec engines:

Yes non-powertec engines will be allowed into the Clubmans Cup provided they are brought to Powertec to check their bhp.

Guys,

There are plenty of championships for Radicals If this one doesn't suit find one that does eh?

I've been doing the Radical Challenge and a few Enduro rounds for a few years now and have allways found evereyone involved with them, competitors, officals and Radical themselves very friendly helpfull and flexible, unlike the BrownpaperandstringMC - Each to his own I guess
