I don't suppose someone could post a pic of their gear lever set-up? I have looked at the revised gear stick from Radical but it also looks like I need a bracket to mount the bush to at a higher level... mine currently bolts to the main chassis close to the floor? but they don't seem to sell a bracket........ Help and guildance required

Thanks

hi scott i have done this conversion in the past. radical do sell a bracket assembley to convert the direction of change basicaly it lifts the gear change which changes the pivot point which in turn changes the driection of change hope this helps

Hi Scott

I spoke to Radical about these brackets and they said that they don't stock them but can get them
fabricated from a drawing they have. As you can guess they were pretty pricey - around £ 200 if I remember.
Might be cheaper if you order more than one - let me know as i need one too?

When we had our Clubsport this was the first thing we changed. From memory I thought the hole thing, lever bracket etc etc was about £200.00 !! I would check again with Radical. Again from memery confused I think to change the operation to forward for down the gears and back for up the rod to the gearbox has to be below the fulcrum of the gear lever. It should make sense if someone post a pic !!
Cheers

Um... I think I will stick with plan B then which is to fabricate a support bracket to weld to the chassis moving the support point of the gear stick upwards about 6". Firstly I will modify the gear stick by making a sleave for the bronze bush to suit the hole size in the rose joint on the end of the gear change rod, Secondly I will modify the threaded part of the gear stick to take a shaft which will run in a bush positioned in to the bracket to make this the new pivot point. I allready have some 1" x 1/2" box section so should be quite easy. once the box section is all painted up etc it sould look a proper job........I note for this to work the gear lever also needs to be rotated 180 degrees around its axis so that when connected onto the rose joint the side of the lever sits almost flush with the edge of the chassis member directly below it.

Tim, I could look at making 2 brackets, 2 sleave's for the gear stick, and 2 shafts with a treaded end for the support pivot point while I'm at it for a reasonable sum? I maybe able to make the brackets with feet on them to enable the chassis to be drilled and tapped and the braket screwed onto the chassis? which would make it a really simple modification?

What you want is

This is mine, made by minitici contact him on this forum or via his website.

Should be cheap, again, one of the first things to be changed. Can't understand why Radical didn't do it as standard!
