SR3 trailer info please
Discussion
Hi Guys, we have finally found the SR3 we were looking for so now I need to find a trailer it will fit on. Any info on differant manufacturers and models that will take the SR3 would be appreciated. We are in the market to buy one, anything s\h out there ? The car is 1.8m wide and 4.2m long.
Not that I've been looking into this but...
Have a look at Brian James A-Max, they do a bed width of 1.96m and length 4.3m or 4.8m. It's a low trailer with the option of longer ramps to help with the car's low ground clearance.
Woodford do a model called a widebody http://www.woodfordtrailers.com/car-trailer-widebo... that will also do the job at a lower price - ignore the prices on their website and give them a call as I got a few £100's off the prices on their website, possibly a January only special. They will also do longer ramps and 10" wheels to get the lower deck height and loading angle if you ask.

Why buy a trailer when you could buy this for the same price or less

Silv - you had a tonneau cover on your clubsport, presumably to keep water out when trailering round the country. Did you get this from Radical or have it made up? I'm going to get the trailer covered at some point but looking at cheaper alternatives in the short term.
There's always Simon's truck I suppose... Why are you selling it Simon and what sort of costs are involved to keep it on the road, tax, insurance, storage, etc?

I bought a Brian James A-Max for my SR3 back in August. It is great to be honest and they will tell you exactly which one you need for an SR3 (apparently they designed one for specifically fot it, although i suspect that is amrketing bull). I hired a few trailers before buying mine and all i can say is you need to be v.careful with the loading angle, etc).
I paid about 2100 for it, including hitch-lock (they threw that in BTW).

Nick,I bought a new car and did a deal for the truck it was in so now I have two - one too many
The truck for sale is in great condition, the box is dry, the chassis is likw new and the cab is tidy inside and out. Running costs are ok. Road tax is the same as a car so £160/yr. Insurance for me is about £250/yr then all you've got to do is fill it with fuel and off you go. It had a service last year and is not due for an MOT till July - There are no problems at present so I see no reason why it would not sail(drive?) through the next test

The SR3 A-series trailer was definitely designed for the SR3 - it fits perfectly. Mind you, it's just a slightly different program for the robot laser welder. It's a bit wider than a normal A-series and has an SR3 logo cut out at the back. Mine was great for the 2 years I had my car, though it didn't fit in my garage. At least, not without poking a hole in it for the hitch.
Re trailers into garages, if you have a standard size garage door (7ft IIRC), then only a Minno fits - from BJ's range, don't know about other manuf. Indeed, I think it was designed that way. The bigger trailers such as the A range are simply too wide and often too long.
Now, my CS only just fitted onto a Minno, so if a SR3 is any bigger (especially if it's wider), it won't. You can tell me if a SR3 is wider than a CS.
I've ended up garaging my CS and saloon racer and having to leave my new A-series (which I needed to trailer the saloon) parked in my driveway.
Don't know whether that's helpful or not. One good bit of news is that's definitely a ready market for second hand BJ trailers, so if you get it wrong or need to change later, it's easy and not expensive. Makes a change, doesn't it?

If anyone is in a similar position, from my measuring standard garage door is 2120mm, the opening for it is 2140mm. The Woodford widebody trailer is 2110mm with a trailer bed of 1780mm (5'10". Not sure if that is wide enough for a SR3 but should be ok to for CS,PS and SR4 and still fit in a single garage door way.
Hi Guys,
As I wrote on my 1st post on this subject the SR3 is approx 1.8M wide and 4.2m long much much bigger than the Clubsport or the SR4. The SR3 will fit on a BJ A Max AM-T-22 which at just over £2k brand new is not too bad when you consider what it could sell for S\H. But it won't fit in a standard size garage. BJ do a flat bed trailer called a TT-minor this has a bed of 4.3m x 1.96m The wheels are under the bed and it is available with a fold up towpole which reduces the overall length to 4.8m and with an overall width of 1.96m it will fit into a garage that the BJ Minno will fit into. The bad news is the TT-minor TT-T-611 is £3k plus from BJT. At this time the TT-minor is the only trailer I can find that will enable me to park the SR3 on a trailer in my garage. But I am still looking !!! Cheers.
