I looks like Radical offer too types of front splitter one with flic-ups at the side and one with a venturi floor with a flat although large splitter? I was thinking of making a front venturi like the one pictured from aluminium? has anyone any experiance of using the front venturi floor option? also does anyone with a rear difuser think this could be effectivly made and supported in aluminium? Any Ideas welcome!

Good day to you Scott

The two options from Radical are a front splitter (with the "Flick Ups" ) which you should have a version of already attached to your nose section, or maybe just holes where one was attached? or a front diffuser that attaches to the crash box / chassis, which is flat and replaces the front undertray and splitter.

The front diffuser is the better option and provides actual aerodynamic downforce. Contrary to popular believe, the Radical unit is very good both in terms of aerodynamic performance and in strength, rigidity and durability.

There have been attempts to copy and improve but overall Radical have done a good job.

The parts are available from their online shop, or a call to the ever helpful guys in the parts department should point you in the right direction.

Absolutely - a very poor simplification of the diffuser which is as wide as the old splitter but around 20mm thick with a flat top, radiused front leading edge and a pair of venturi to channel the air either side of the crash box and chassis.

Here's a pic of the new "high downforce" splitter on a PR6

Now Im no expert but it looks like the PR6 side pods would be required to take full advantage of that style of front splitter as they seam to have an open front unlike mine? although I assume the concept of that splitter is more like a front difuser as the air is sqweezed under the front and then due to the upswept sections either side of the crash box allowed to expand again causing negative air pressure under the front? does this sound right? I still think I am going to try and knock one up and see how it works
