Chaps, I need your Radical knowledge please smile

I've decided to start the hobby I've always wanted to and that's to get a car specifically for track use, and I am favouring towards a Radical for that purpose. I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out a bit.

1. Where's the best resource for Radical info on all the models and types etc..??
2. Is there anyone in the London area that maybe I could meet up with to get some info? Beers obviously on me!!!
3. Any of you who do track days, can they tell me good resources for getting a trailer and all the other necessary bits to run these on the track?

Any help would be great. Thanks...T biggrin

Out of interest, T, where are you thinking of tracking the Radical? And are we talking SR3, 4 or 8?

I don't really mind, I'm in East london but easily accesible to the M11, M25 & M1. I think the SR8 will be over my budget from doing some browsing.

"Bangs for Buck" you cant beat the original Clubsport, or probably more so the Prosport. All the later Radicals appear to be over priced and under performanced.......

Between 25k and 30k, I'd like to stay at the bottom end though smile for trailer & storage costs. I've seen a few around the 23K mark, is that the low end for these?

biggrin Buy my Clubsport with trailer, spare engine and all you need to run it on track days for half the price!! See our add under other Radicals in cars for sale on here. Have you got any track day or racing experience? If not I would suggest a Club Sport would be plenty fast enough and a bit easier to get to grips with than SR3 or 4. I am based in Kent and will be driving our car at Brands Hatch or maybe Lyden circuit early August if you want to come and have a chat. Cheers.

Thanks Silv. Is the clubsport the entry level then? I will take a look at your ad and get back to you. I've got some track day experience and lots of karting experience but many years ago.

I saw Silv's car at Sliverstone and it looks the biz! As a fellow CS owner, they are fab for trackdays. Not a huge cost, fantastically quick and superb fun to drive.

I echo that (I also have a CS) the price for Slivs car with the spares and trailer looks very good.

To explain my previous comment, a few years ago a guy come out in the Hillclimbs and Sprints in Scotland in a new "stateof the art" SR4 busa, he promtly set new class records at nearly all the events he entered. Last year I entered the same events in my 9 year old 1100 Clubsport (no6)and broke nearly all his records by a large margin! I can assure you I am not some superstar driver, just the car is better that the later model.

Don't waste your money unless you want the ultimate straight line speed of the big 1500 / 1600 busas in the new (crazy priced)new models

Hi Silv, I can only answer peoples questions, and lets face it if the manufacturer does not give you honest and clear information then newbies will have to rely on trustworthy people such as you and I. And yes there are many things worth knowing which would even suprise you!
However I did notice you may be searching for an SR4 I'm selling one although it does have the sva pack (easily removed) and it is almost as new. Could you be interested, would happy to give you more details.

Just one 'secret'. Someone has recently bought a Radical from the company, it was advertised as a 2006 car, it was actually a 2004 and the history of this car would have also put them off for sure. I think this would have been very useful knowledge for the buyer!
On a brighter note I did notice you may be searching for an SR4 I'm selling one although it does have the sva pack (easily removed) and it is almost as new. Could you be interested, would happy to give you more details.
