DL90 Data Logger - a question...
Discussion
Do any of you have one of the excellent Race Technology DL90 data loggers?
If so could you please let me know how you ar using the HT pick up sensor cable for engine RPM. I have tried all the options described in the manual but none seem to work on my 1300cc SR3.
I'm probably doing something dumb but any pointers would be appreciated.

AndrewD (who's on this forum) had a DL90 fitted successfully in build, and from the data gathered over the weekend looks great. I want to buy one too, so I'd appreciate it if you could remember all the little hurdles! I'm sure Andrew would be happy for you to come over and spend a few hours tracing the wiring, which is what I intended to do.
Our cars are FI, but I'm sure the HT system will be more or less identical.

I'm using it on the V8S (very different engine, obviously!) with the sensor wire wrapped round one of the HT leads. I had to use a foil sleeve about 2" long to get a reliable signal. Also I remember the manual was ambiguous/contradictory about the polarity of one of the sensor inputs and I have an idea it was the rpm one.
I haven't had much chance yet to look at the data analysis from Folembray. Initial impression is the track map looks poor owing to low quality GPS data apparently. Will be investigating and may call the manufacterer to check I'm doing it right.
You're welcome to come and look at the wiring setup. Will have to wait a couple of weeks as the car is now back at the factory having regular valve clearance check, and the rear body repaired just above where the exhaust is (number plate recess) - it seems when the exhaust starts spitting flames, it has a tendency to melt things (Danny I'm getting the improved map and updated dry sump swirl pot too).

Andrew, thanks for the offer. I will take you up on it but there is no rush at all. I think that the GPS signal has been degraded over the last few months because of the conflict in Iraq. The US military own the satelites and I understand that they can control the quality of the signal that can be used by civilians.
