I am interested in purchasing a clubsport for track days initially with a view to
racing in the future depending on finances. I am a relative novice having competed
in Pro Karts and a few trackdays and I would welcome any advice on the best
way forward. I have no experience of bike engines and (very) basic experience of
car set up etc. Is the Clubsport a good choice and what where would be the
best venues to start without jumping in at the "deep end"

There are quite a few Radicals racing at Combe on BH Monday including myself. If you want a look around the car you're more than welcome

Hi tprocket.
I will very soon be looking at selling my rd legal sr4 clubsport. It only has low road miles, but has not ever seen a racetrack and looks almost new. If you are at all interested please dont hesitate to contact me, I am local in South Beds. My contact no is 01525 218153.

Thanks for the offer SR4 but I would imagine that it would be a little out
of my price range of 10 - 12k.

Hi tprocket,

I started out last year with a clubsport 1100, which can be picked up in the 8k-10k range. I did a number of trackday events and had loads of fun. I had no racing experience at all. This year I am competing in a few PowerTec races, I would do a full season if my budget would allow. I had no knowledge about working on cars, but I have been helped by Van Kaiser at with Slipstream Racing so that I can be more self-sufficient since I don't live in the UK and need to do basic things for trackdays by myself. Working with a team has been very helpful for me, but it does make things more expensive. I did see a number of people at the Powertec race who were not using a team for support.

IMHO I think that the older clubsports are a great place to start out (cheaper to buy, slightly less HP to come to terms with, a number of series to race in) and the PowerTec races that I did were a good place for me to start. I know that there are other series available for clubsports like the events at Combe.

Thanks Jon - that's really encouraging. It is all a little daunting but I can't wait.
Good to hear how you achieved it. Thanks again.

Hi Silv,

I'm looking at two this weekend and I was hoping to catch up
with you early next week to arrange to see yours - if it's still available?
