Just bought a replacement oil pressure sender for K13 JOB's Clubsport -
0 to 8 Bar, M10 x1, Racetech part number 603533
Available ex. stock from Demon Tweeks GBP21.01 +vat & delivery. (Demon Tweeks part number 603533)
This is the sender which screws into a tee piece on a remote piece of Aeroquip (along with the pressure switch on the opposite side of the tee).

Before you go and buy a sender - have you tried shorting the sender lead to chassis? - the dash reading should show 122 psi when shorted out.
If it doesn't then check the wiring and/or connector to the dash.

craig71 have you tried using a normal mechanical gauge to check the pressure in the oil circuit.... you never know. electronic gauges can system can be fickle!

Could be the pump that had died, undo the braided hose the pressure sender is on and turn the engine over (with the plugs removed which will enable the engine to spin quicker) and see if there is any oil flow.

That is all consistent with electrical gremlins not duff oil pressure. If your short didn't produce the 122 psi or whatever the number was then the gauge is not getting the signal.

cheers

Guess What?

My new sender seams to have failed as well!

The short test works OK so the wiring is fine and there is oil arriving at the sender when the engine turns over.

Craig, what kind of guage and fitting did you fit?

A whole year without ant mechanical problems and now One engine and two oil pressure senders?

hi mate,
i took the sender to grandprix racewear silverstone and they matched up the sender fitting, supplied all other fittings, 2.5m of hose and the mechanical 100psi gauge. Any mech gauge up to and over 100psi will be fine its only the fittments that are the slight hassley bit.
If you find out its the sender let me know.
(ps aching a bit today but managed a 3hour48 london marathon)

Definately the sender faulty, short test proves dash and loom OK, tried removing sender and cranking engine and oil pouring out, oil pressure switch/lamp goes out. Also took chance and ran it at Curborough so if really no oil pressure would have seazed by now.

Still not stripped the dead engine.
