All - Another Oil System related query!
My old Clubsport (chassis no. 33) has it's oil cooler mounted upright, unions uppermost, and with the outboard union poking up through a hole in the side pod. This means that to drain the cooler, I have to remove it from the side pod (or turn the car on its side!). I thought this was normal until viewing various pictures in this forum showing coolers installed lying on their side.
So, when the cooler is installed lying on its side, how is it attached to the side pod? Is it only attached inboard, or is it attached within the pod as well? Does it lie on some form of rubber mat?

In ours you can undo the outboard oil connection without loosing any oil once the car has been standing for a short while.
You can then remove the cooler without taking the sidepod off.

Its attached using "L" brackets, nothing fancy (it is Radical after all ) I looked at doing it this way but I would have to buy a new rad so it went on the "nice to have" list. No real need to drain the cooler anyway as doesn't hold a lot of oil.

Rob, Prawn
Thanks for the input. Doesn't sound too difficult - I'm sure I can cobble something up.
