Aero package Yes or No?
Discussion
I am thinking of adding a Pro-Sport Aero package to our 1100 Clubsport.
One or two questions come to mind!
What parts are needed?
Has anyone on here got SH parts available?
What can we expect to gain in terms af lap times?
Does the suspension need to be tweaked to cope with the extra down force?
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hi Vic,
You need a new rear body frame, wing mount and wing fpr the rear
Splitter and diveplanes for the front.
All easy to fit, the hardest part would be drilling the rear body for the wing support (we just got a set of prosport bodywork)
We have tweaked our suspension with stiffer springs all round.
You will only see a gain in the quicker corners, not sure of specific time as we did not time until after the kit was fitted.

As Prawn says you'll need a new subframe, wing frame and of course a wing (MVS Racing do a nice generic carbon one which is well priced and does the job well, this is what I run). For the front you'll need the dive planes to balance the car back out.
Fitting is ok, you can guarantee the parts won't fit first time so will need some fettling. Just so you are prepared. Think the whole aero conversion cost me about about £800 iirc
Laptimes, at Combe my times were low 72s, once the aero kit was fitted and I learn't to drive the car again I was down to 69s. Biggest difference is braking and cornering. You can carry massive amounts of corner speed compared to the standard Clubsport aero and braking is vastly improved decreasing braking distances by some margin.
Springs, the standard Prosport springs are 300lbs front and 600lbs rear.
Hope that helps.

Hi
I ran a Clubsport with an aeropack last season, As Rob said it was worth about 3 secs at Combe and more at other circuits. You will find that Vmax is less than a standard Clubsport and you have to get past on breakes or in the corners Once past you will leave them behind. You'll learn to drive through that 'Oh my god this is too quick' feeling as you turn in. There is a zone where the grip from the aero is not enough and the mechanical grip is on the limit. once you drive through that you will be amazed at how quick you can corner
Drop me a mail or give me a call if you want any more info
Regards
Simon
Edited to say call Mark Sutterby at Mansol Motorsport he has a huge stock of Prosport/Clubsport spares at very good prices
...Tell him Simon sent you
