Hi

Does anyone have the extra clubsport exhaust silencer baffle for trackdays that they'd like to get rid of?

I'm looking for one.

Try ringing Donnington circuit. We bought a baffle that you fix up the exit pipe from them last year. They had a box full of differant shapes and sizes that they sell to bikers to get them through their noise regs on trackdays.

Thanks Silv,

Yeah that seems to be one option, does anyone know how much it will quieten it down?
Also, will it restrict power?
I've just spoken to Radical and they sell a quiet silencer which is oval and brings the noise down to approximately 97-98dB static.
Does anyone run one of these? - or have one for sale?

Hi Simon

A few people have them - I have seen Graham's up close and personal. I don't think you can get anywhere near 97dBA with them; even if you could then the induction noise seems to take over. They seem to be expensive for what they are. One of my sleeper projects is to get an exhaust made up for maximum quietness, haven't got off my arse to organise it yet though.

I've got one of those bolt on jobbies, more than welcome to borrow it to test. Give me a tenner and you can have it.

Cheers
Rob

P.S. Of course this is presuming I can remember where I put it

hehehehe 97-98 that's with the engine switched off then! What Radical reckon is that with their quiet box if you have one yellow light just flickering (that's 5k) it'll get to 98. This is on the 1100 clubsport by the way. I reckon you might get down to 100dba. With 3 yellows which is what Castle Combe ask for as an example which is 7k (nowhere near 3/4 max revs or even 2/3) you get about 105-107 dba. You can take this down by 2-3dba with a dongle on the back.

Hi Rob,

Thanks, sounds good.

Doesn't sound hopeful for getting it through a 98dB limit then.

No chance, plus flatsides are very noise as well which doesn't help matters.

P.S. the lowest I got with a freashly packed exhaust was 103db which was at Combe

the only way is to find a way of being very "creative" with what the revs are! Not that I would engage in or condone any deception or misleading of course!

Would be fun to drive thee clubsport at combe. Maybe I should get my licence again and go to a test day there.

iirc you only need a speed licence to do test days.
