I was talking to a friendly chap called Bisp at the Brands track day last week who runs a race team. He was telling me that owing to a change in regs there would be some engines being changed at the end of the season. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Keith Bisp, that's it, nice chap. What are they putting in the SR4 then if the 1200 is out? Why the change? Would it easily retrofit in a clubsport? Why do I ask all these questions??

The kwaka 1200 is going out of production. SR4's for 2007 will have busa 1300's. From 2007 the Radical Biduro races will have 2 classes - 1 for kwaka's 1 for busa's

Should have started with Busa 1300s in the first place IMO. SR4 will have now completed the transition from being a Clubsport equivalent to being a Prosport equivalent..

Why not use ZX14 engines, more power than the busa in standard trim. Maybe a "cheaper" option. iirc the 14 uses the same mounting points etc at the 12

so if I wanted a spare engine and box for my clubsport(which I do), what's the best way? ARe there going to be some cheaper 1200's about?

ZX12 engine won't just "plug in" to a Clubsport, you'll need a lot of new parts to do this i.e. exhaust, mounts, ecu, wiring loom etc. Best bet is to locate a good second hand 1100 lump if you want a spare.
