Hi Guys

Just in the process of making one good engine out of two, noticed on the Powertec motor the balancer shaft has been removed. Does this mean that the crank in the Powertec engines are balanced? or are they stock?

Any help would be great!

Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob,
As far as I can tell it is std, the balancer shaft is only there to smooth out the feel of the engine on a bke.
The only part of the engine that is modded is the headwork, otherwise the kwaker is std IMO.

I have heard many people recommending an 'engine -refresh' after 24 hours of use? Having just blown the engine up on my clubsport 1100 I am fairly keen for it not to happen again! Any advice for on-going maintenance would be appreciated.
Cheers
Al.

Rods and pistons are the fav items to replace, and 25-30 hours is about right
