Insurance For a SR4

Hi there,

I have just bought a SR4 and am looking to insure it for storage and transportation only. Does anyone know of any insurer that does this, preferably cheaply!!

Yep just done that,Competition Car Insursurance in Nottingham.I paid about £250 valued at 25k.Will also insure your trailer.Where did you buy the car?

Perfect, I'll try them tomorrow. The car belonged to Lee Atkins, if you're doing Biduro's next yr, you'll get to see why I probably won't bother insuring the trailer!!

If anyone knows of anyone else, please let me know.

Another vote for CCI here, got the clubsport covered and recently added the trailer for less than £50, can't say fairer than that

I use Fairmont to cover my SR3 (and trailer before it got stolen, though they were good at paying up)

For info for others. The following quotes have been given to me for storage and transportation:

Fairmont:
Premium - £165
Includes:
Car up to £25k
Trailer up to £5k
Tools and Spares up to £5k
Excess £250 for car, £500 for trailer
Payment is for market value of car at that time.

Competition Car Insurance
Premium - £241.56 (£296.69 with trailer)
Includes:
Car up to £25k
Trailer up to £1.5k
Excess £250
Assumes that garage is deadlocked.
Payment is for full £25k value of car.

£25 / £1000 to be insured, £25k racecar = £625 + trailer!!! Ouch!

Both Fairmont & CCI very friendly and helpful, the policies are as I understand them. I just hope that I never need to actually make a claim!
