Making Prosport seat wider?

Has anyone had any luck making a Prosport seat wider? My seat is only 15” wide at the hips and I am 17”. I am looking for used seats in the US but haven’t found one yet. I know Arc Angles makes them but shipping is twice as much as the seat. I am considering cutting the seat down he center and re-glassing it, but I am concerned that it could harm the integrity of the seat. All ideas are welcome.

Feels like nothing to lose! Give it a go. Put some strengtheners across the cut seat. Use some thin perspex or similar to make the face to fibreglass to. User some release film to allow you to remove the mold face.

It might work.
