SR3 Engine Choices
Discussion
I am new to this forum having just acquired a SR3 with a 1300 turbocharged Busa. Unfortunately having made some impressive lap times on various circuits No.2 piston made a bid for freedom through the crank case in the warm up for its maiden race in the OSS series. Prior to that the previous owner spent a fortune on the car with various upgrades but got bored after the engine blow and has now moved on to GT3. The car is now in my possession along with a load of extra wheels, body panels and other parts.
My question is what to do next? - source second hand Hayabusa and transfer over the turbo, dry sump and possibly cylinder head (thats still good); go for another spec of engine; dump the car to the highest bidder; etc
I am no racer so would only use the car for the odd track day. Whilst happy to undertake most mechanical tasks myself, an engine rebuild is beyond my skillset so would need a pro to get involved if I go down that route.
Any advice appreciated

In my opinion, it depends. Can you post some pictures and the chassis number to better asses. If this is one of the few factory turbo cars I would say there is som historical significance so the car is likely worth more in its original engine configuration. If this is a car that had the Turbo engine was added, I would replace it with a non turbo engine. If you are going to use it for accational track days a 1300 would be a fine choice. If you want a bit more power put in a 1500 (which also requires more maintenance).
