Just about to change the gear ratios and reading the drivers manual it says both the 34mm and 42mm nuts "should be torqued to 45 ft/lbs before the locking tabs are punched into their respective grooves"

However, I've now seen sight of a separate service guide which seems to suggest the "ratio nuts" should be torqued to 80ft/lbs, so are these referring to different nuts?

it is 80 ft/lbs for both ratio nuts and locktite 648.

from the manual for the gdu:
TORQUE SETTINGS
All M6 Bolts- 14.5-16Nm/10.6- 12Ft.Lbs.
All M8 Bolts- 35-39Nm/26-29Ft.Lbs.
Ratio Nuts-108 Nm/80Ft.Lbs. Use Solid Loctite 648.
Crown Wheel Bolts- 80Nm/60Ft.Lbs. Use Solid Loctite 648.

Thanks - annoying that the manual supplied with the car says 45ftlbs and loctite 243 - I wonder why the discrepancy

Maybe they had a few come undone? I used 243 all last year with no problem but always 80lb ft.
