I have many years experience in racing all marques but am now looking to buy a Radical for trackdays and tuition, i am thinking SR3, can someone please simplify the best model to go for ? i know there are many specs but i want something reliable, i am searching second hand markets so if anyone has anything pm me, my main confusion seems to be with regards to the many engine types i see listed and the chain drive or diff ?

Hi Jensen,

Welcome to the Radical section!

SR3's all come with a Suzuki Hayabusa engine and differential gear drive unit (some other types of Radical use a chain driving a diff), with the only exception being the fairly rare SR3 SL which uses a car engine and gearbox. The Hayabusa engines come in various states of tune from 1300cc upwards, all the Suzuki Hayabusa engine with increased displacement.

SR3 would be the correct choice for instruction and track days in my opinion. The newer you can afford the better is probably safe to say as well. If you take a look at the Radical parts shop you will find the gear drive unit under transmission if you want a look at it.

Some of the other guys should be along with more SR3 specific info, I'm a billy no mates single seat Radical guy!

Rgds,

Dunc.
