Hi all, I have a little dilemma, as I am unsure which one of the two schematics is correct for me. Mine is a pre 2008. I know both are OK, it's just a matter of how you choose to pipe it up. Any input of the main differences would be a great help, as I seem to be going round in circles seeing the same thing. Cheers all.

I converted the pre-2008 system (billet pan) to post 2008 plumbing with strategic use of blanking plugs and reducers/adapters. The main thing to know is that with the post-2008 plumbing, you must remove the oil cooler restrictor behind the oil filter. It's a simple allen/hex head grub screw.

The advantage to the post 2008 system in my view are:
1) Oil goes through the oil cooler via the scavenge pump, which gives it more time to de-aerate
2) pressure pump is ONLY used to feed the engine, not the engine AND the oil cooler
3) oil temps were reduced because ALL oil goes through the cooler - the stock system only pushes a portion of the oil through the cooler

If you're re-plumbing, I would recommend going with the later setup regardless of whether you have the newer or older hardware.
