Race Slicks for SR3
Discussion
Hi Everyone,
Since the UK Dunlop factory closed I have had to switch to Dunlops that are made in the Japanese factory. They are designed for a F3 series there and are a very hard compound. They are definitely slower; but up to now they have lasted a whole season and given good performance.
The compound has now changed and it is MUCH harder, and they only do this one control tire. I's 20km/h down on mechanical grip corners on this new set, compared to my last new set (I'll post a data replay, it's interesting to watch). That's not going to work!
What are you guys racing SR3's using for tires please?
Thank
Richard

I have run Avons for the last year and they heat up much quicker than the Dunlops, but obviously don't last as long. Grip I would suggest is better than the Dunlops. SR3 sizes are readily available from BMTR or direct from Avon.
I know some others are running Pirelli, but haven't tried them myself yet, but might give them a go this season.
