Hi Guys,

I've recently acquired an SR4 and am looking forward to doing some track days when the weather warms up. Could anyone tell me where I could download an SR4 owner's manual as I can't find one anywhere!

Many thanks,
Nick

It's available on the radical site under downloads but saying that I'm getting an error when I go to that section so might be a case of getting it sent by either radical or a fellow sr4 owner on here.

I've not got it I'm afraid, so not much use.

Dunc.

Can you down load the SR1 manual? I did this and found it very informative because there are so many similarities between the two cars.
Welcome to the would of the SR4, your going to love it!

I have a pdf of the 2006 sr4 manual. I ran sr1 so have that and the just about every other manual from radical.
I can email the sr4 one over if you cannot find it through google.

Thanks Fast Freddie,

It looks like GC285 can send me over the SR4 manual.

Yeah really looking forward to the first outing but as I've never run anything like a Radical before I'm somewhat nervous about it too!

Regards,
Nick

Me neither when I got mine, I was pooping my pants.

Actually it turned out to be quite a friendly car. You'll love it.

If you are a novice at running a Radical, don't forget they are race cars and should be properly checked between sessions. Spanner checks, oil, coolant, brakes and fluid, chain tension and chain lubricant. But you will find it's brilliant and easy to drive - that's the amazing thing about Radicals.

Thanks BertBert, this is one of the reasons I'd like to have a copy of the SR4 manual. I'm assuming answers to a lot of the questions I have will be in there...

and easy to run on the day as long as it is prepared as bert says.

or what you hit/get hit by! In 2 years, thankfully I have had nothing major but they were newish cars. Did you run your green sr3 yourself bert? I came looked at the car when you were selling one of them in 2014.

Ahh yes I remember now.

I used to run my club sport myself for track days. But always had help when racing. I only did a couple of solo track days in the green car but ran it myself a couple of times. Doable for track days, but not for me when racing.

Hi Nick
I have booked in to do a track day at Rockingham with Bookatrack on 22nd April for a little shakedown of my SR4 after some winter fettling. I have had my Radical for 7 years now and so I am fairly familiar with them. If you are about and need a hand with your car, come and have a thrash round for the day. smile
Obviously that applies to any other Radical owners out there.

Hi Fast Freddie,

Thanks for the offer, it's really appreciated! I'm actually out at Blyton for a shakedown in mine on Monday 17th April. I know I wont be able to stretch it's legs at Blyton, but it's nice and safe and only up the road from me. I'm really looking forward to it!! Hope you enjoy your day at Rockingham.

Regards,
Nick

So it was my first day out in the SR4 at Blyton last Monday and what a thrill it was! I built the speed steadily over a few runs and really felt at home in the car. Unfortunately, just before lunch the chain let go and the soft link for the spare I had turned out to be damaged so that was the end of play.

The chain had looked correctly adjusted but I don’t know how old it was. However, looking at the car yesterday there seems to be some play in the CV joints and loads of play in the diff - surely this much play isn't right? This must have put huge strain on the chain.

With the wheels on the ground I took this video. https://youtu.be/XCfXTpj5JkA

Is the diff dead?! Could anyone advise please?

Thanks in advance,
Nick
