Has anyone done a custom seat pour in an SR3? I have pulled the fibreglass shell out and am in the middle of making a foam seat, I did a test run that didn't go so well ( none of the foam got to the front of the bag) so I am about to start again

If you have done this did you put a piece of foam under your bum and back before using the 2 part liquid foam?

I tried with a little success on an SR1 seat. I used a Demon T custom plastic bag and custom 2 part pack. I lifted myself up slightly into what I thought was the correct position and allowed the foam to get under and behind me. The foam sets quite quickly but there is some time to wriggle into a good position. I only wanted a slight lift up and forward but had too much foam on my first attempt so ended up binning the mess. I now use a memory foam dog cushon which works for me lol

Done quite a few over the years and made loads of cockups too. It seems to work best if you are using expanding foam when you are doing a medium thickness. I've tried the kits that have polystyrene balls and a liquid, but they are expensive especially when you cock it up!

For an SR3, I'd definitely try and make an insert into the normal seat, not replace it entirely - too big a space.

I have had success with using a camping foam bottom to get me to the right height and then do the back/side with expanding foam. You put the bottom bit in the bag so the foam bonds to it.

Also done ok with just foam. I view it as a multi-try exercise. The first one or two (or even three) is about learning where the foam goes, how much foam you need, how long it takes to set, where you need to hold yourself to and generally practicing.

You do need to get the foam poured all the way down, kind of hold yourself in the right place as it expands, and then as it sets you can put more weight on to be certain that you are in the right place.

Thanks for the reply, I need to get rid of the standard seat as I am making a little more room ( I am 6'5")

I think I just need to keep trying, have built a cardboard wall where the passenger sits to ston the foam creeping over that side, will give it another go on the weekend and report back

I'm not quite sure how much space you have to fill, but you might in fact be better off with one of the bag kits for a bigger space. At least you can play around before mixing the goo in to get it right. What will keep the seat in position on the centre side though?

We built a bracket to keep it in place, but I had built a bassist in the driver side to make reverse easy to get to, now I see that's a problem, I might just fill the space and cut out a section to get to reverse
