I am new to Pistonheads and have a Radical Clubsport which i have bought on impulse having sold my other race car (Having checked it out with the factory). Does anyone know what kind of realistic budget is required to run one of these in the Biduro championship? Are these Matador tyres any good? How long do they last? Does anyone know of a good supplier at the right money?

(Its a 99 car and I could be tempted to part with it if the above sums don't add up and run my MGF instead.)

Thanks DGS.

Matador tyres last very well, but you have to buy them from Radical. To be competitive, you really need a new set each weekend. Realistic budget for a season of BiDuro is at least 20 grand.

You can run the car at SEMSEC & 750MC for les than 20k, we ran our car (99 Clubsport)in all SEMSEC rounds + 2 x 750MC & i Radical Biduro round for approx. 12k. All the work was done by us with very few repairs. The Matador tyres last for ages although you get a slight drop off after approx. 8 heat cycles you can then run them untill worn out!

Many thanks to you both for your advice.

Looking at your other advice on the other forum what kind of camber angles do I need to achieve? Being a novice in these cars i am not likely to be a threat competetively but it would be nice to have a fighting chance!

Are there a range of spring rates available and what is recommended?

3 deg neg at the front and 2 at the rear, from memory. As for setup, spring rates etc, that's down to the circuit and personal preference. The setup that I've been happiest with in a clubsport is as follows:

Dampers: 10 clicks all round
Springs: 250 front, 400 rear (standard)
ARBs: Medium front, soft rear on softest setting
