Has anyone here ever made a resin / bead or foam seat for a Prosport / PR6 ?

If so I would be very interested in a photo if possible please or information upon how the upper part of the seat and shoulder area was supported ?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

I "built" a bead seat for my Clubsport (Serial # 0040) turned Prosport. To "contain" the seat, I used two pieces of 0.10" thick aluminum about 12" x 30" with about 1" of the long side bent 90 degrees for stiffness. Additional aluminum sheets were used to contain the upper sides of the seat. Those sheets were attached to the sides and to the firewall. I then made a strong steel "U" that went behind the driver's shoulders and braced the upper portions of the additional sheets. The bead seat kit I used was from the HANS folks. It was the first bead seat I've constructed and worked well. The PVC pipes in the picture give good support for my upper body. I've had the car on the track with this seat for at least 25 events and have had no troubles at all. (I can't say the same for all the other components of my car.)

It seems to be quite hard to get good lateral support when making bead or foam seats. like the pipe idea!

I have a Hans bead seat kit which wasn't used on a project which would be at a discounted price smile
Mail me if it's of interest.
