upgrade to AIM MXL Strada
Discussion
I just installed my new AIM Display. So far so good. Unfortunately my old 922 MBE ECU is not able to communicate with the AIM MXL. But this is not a big issue I just have to install additional sensors.
But I have one problem with the PRM. At least I need to know if the MBE 992 ECU has a square wave signal. If so which of the PINs at the ECU is the ECU RPM signal?

On my car there's a connector in the loom carrying the RPM signal. It can be found behind the heat shield where the main ECU plug is. It's a 2 pin sureseal connector although obviously only one wire is attached. You should find it is labelled with "RPM" on the wire just ahead of the plug. I have mine connected to my data logger (I just chopped the plug off).
Failing that, if you check the wiring diagram on Simon Tilling's website, it appears to be on pin 34. Be careful which numbers you read - the pins are in the box representing the ECU connector, not against the wires in the diagram. That comment will make sense when you open it. The generic 992 pinout from SBD seems to correlate with that as well. You will need to trace and verify it yourself though as cars appear to be different from time to time.
The wiring diagram also shows it's on the dash connector as well - not that surprising I guess.
