Paddle Shift System shifting quality...
Discussion
Having completed around 20 hours in the SR1, I've noticed over the last 3 hours that the paddleshift upshift seems harsher than it did previously, particularly in 2nd - 4th.
I'm not sure if the shift itself is harsher or its actually the auto-cut is maybe cutting for longer and I'm feeling the punch from the de/reacceleration during the shifting process. But I would also say that somehow this harshness is now also true on the way down the box too.
Anyone else had the same experience as this? Wear of the dogs? or is there some adjustment of the shift mechanism? Or I did also wonder about pressure of the pneumatic system - if its leaking air for example and running a lower pressure it may take longer to be able to engage the next gear, hence the delay in the autocut and the harshness sensation.
The only other coincidience may be that I had retensioned the chain towards the "tight" end of the allowable play limit. And I'm wondering if this could have affected the shift - it certainly removed the snatch that I was getting in the rear axle under braking.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Sounds like something is not working correctly...
Get the LIFE ECU data downloaded and get it e-mailed into RPE for a look.
There is a set length for the actuator arm but I doubt that this has changed. Check the bearings in the actuator, both gear level and engine mounting ends, if this has started to fail or has free play then this will affect your gear change.
This may flag up the problem and would be a good starting point, even if nothing is found then they can make further recommendations from there.

Thanks Dan - I'll get the boys to have a look and pull the data out.Get the LIFE ECU data downloaded and get it e-mailed into RPE for a look.

Cheers for the suggestion!
