Rear wheel CV centre nut torque.
Discussion
Can anyone please advise? I have a 2007 SR4. I sent the hub off to Radical to replace wheel bearing and CV joint. I then emailed them to find out the torque settings for the centre nut. They have advised up to 240 Newton metres. This seems a tad excessive, is this correct?
Over the winter I am going to put some new drive shafts and CV joints in the rear of the car. How do I remove the CV joints from the centre chain driven diff?
Many thanks

Worth double checking with them I should say: I have it down in my notes as 150ftlbs, so call it 205Nm - however, like the centrelock torque settings it may simply have been revised on the basis of their extensive real world data gathering.Over the winter I am going to put some new drive shafts and CV joints in the rear of the car. There has been quite a few questions on this recently and I believe Radical have revised the figure up to 240 Nm from 210 Nm There are arguements about whether dry or greased etc. We have experimented a bit this year and found 220Nm works well with a small amount of copper cote on the threads. The most important point to check them whenever possible on trackdays, testing or racing.
Thanks gentlemen. I knew this would cause some confusion, I was concerned that the guys at Radical had also made the same mistake. Therefore using Pistonheads for a bit of confirmation. Will go with Mr Splitpin's advice. Only use car for trackdays so the original settings will be fine . Unfortunately the name fast freddie is only a term of endearment. At Silverstone on Monday hope to see some other Rads there.

I doubt they'd do that: the recommendation for CLs is now 240ftlbs i.e. call it 325Nm, having been raised from 200ftlbs i.e call it 270Nm. So obviously, there is a massive difference between 240Nm and 240ftlbs.Are some only tightening their CLs up to 220Nm? Utterly Bonkers
Have a good day on Monday - mate of mine is there having a try out for next year's GRDC. Regards to M & C from Hawkwind
