My new style Carbon Wing
Discussion
Always difficult to tell from photos, but the quality of work looks excellent.
Is the plane and flap assembly the same overall width as the OE? Likewise, the front edge to back edge width of each of the two components?
Looking forward to what Lindsay makes of it .......... remembering that mathematically I know the square root of SFA when it comes to aero profiling, my only 'query' is whether, presumably resultant of the two support stays, the flat central portion is perhaps too wide? i.e. the outer 'attack' parts are overly narrow?
Anyway, it's good to see folks trying some different stuff .............. car's apparently looking right smart too

Yes the dimensions of the wing and winglet are very much the same as OE except for the dropped end.Is the plane and flap assembly the same overall width as the OE? Likewise, the front edge to back edge width of each of the two components?

Not sure what you mean by: " the flat central portion is perhaps too wide? i.e. the outer 'attack' parts are overly narrow? "
That is not my car. Photo is just for display purposes. You spotted right the quality is top notch.
My car is ex. Simon Tiling"s turbo SR3.
Isn't the reason for the twisted plane seen on GT cars that the air hitting the ends of the wing arrives around the side of the car and the air hitting the top comes via the roof and thus at a different angle? I've not heard of it being for extraction from the rear wheel arches before. Have you any examples of top level open sports cars where this type of wing is used?

correct. But if the owner of this wing wins a few races then they will sell well..and if the new wing reduces the prodigious downforce and staggeringly turbulent wake of sr3s, then as a PR6 owner i am right behind this kind of development 😊mb26 said:

No need to win races. That wing should sell simply because it is about half the price of anything that is similar in quality! Not that it should matter but it certainly looks very good too. And if you do not like the drop end style it also comes as a straight wing.https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-... you mean like this!!
o yes, cocked up a bit this year so far,but parts on there way ,and some more fun to be had in Alderney with a three day hillclimb/sprint,and Guernsey hill coming up,going to get my wrists slapped by LCM when he sees the new wrap job,https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/t1.0-9/p180x540/10308120_10153235152903306_875595320543353950_n.jpg
