I find that the SR3 rims are quite heavy for their size. My larger BMW M3 rims are actually lighter. Are there any alternatives to what I have seen out there?

I have the one piece and the three piece rims Radical sells.
No idea who actually makes them. I think the three piece ones might be BBS?

The Radical one piece are indeed heavy (but robust)!

The problem you have is that most lightweight race wheels are made in 13" diameter with Dallara centres whereas Radical use different centres and 15 & 16" rims for the SR3 and 8.

I think that the 3 piece wheels that you've seen come from Image: http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/ They are quite close to me in the Black Country but not too easy for you to pop in and have a chat to Harry or Jason and to get some made!

The lightest wheels that I've used are BBS one piece magnesium. Very very light but quite fragile AND not made any more. I use Dynamics race wheels on the Porsches, they are reasonably light and pretty tough but are in 18" rather than the 15-16" you need for the SR3.

Not an easy one to solve but I suggest it's worth investigating the 3 piece option from Image or BBS.
